　One of the classic symbols of Japanese summer festivals is the yo-yo balloon.

　A yo-yo balloon is a toy made by filling a rubber balloon with water and air, tying it closed with a rubber string, and bouncing it like a yo-yo.

　Yo-yos were a huge craze in the United States and Europe around 1933 and later made their way to Japan as well. However, yo-yos at that time were expensive and people could not easily afford them.

　It's said that yo-yo balloons were created so that more people could enjoy them at a more affordable price by using relatively inexpensive materials.

　Today, these yo-yo baloons are a staple of summer festivals and fairs and are enjoyed by everyone, from children to adults.
